About Devinity Ragdolls..

Let us introduce ourselves, we are Andrew and Sharon and we live with our children and Ragdolls at our home in Leeds,West Yorkshire.  We have as a family owned numerous pets over the years, from tropical and marine fish and hamsters to parrots and dogs and cats.  We decided a few years ago to not have anymore pets until my wife decided she wanted a cat.  This was not a problem or so I thought, we then had to decide what type of cat ie, long-hair,short-hair,large,dainty etc the list went on. After a lot of looking around the internet my wife stumbled across the Ragdoll breed, that was it she was not going to be deterred. The breed had everything we wanted, beautiful features, stunning eyes, a temperament like no other and the loyalty of a dog without the dependance of one.

Now the search was on, where should we go for one of these beautiful creatures, how many breeders were there, would they let us be owned by one of their kittens? There were so many things to think about and then we found them, Happiness Ragdolls.  Geoff and his wife Eileen were wonderful, they told us we could go and have a look at some of their cats and kittens and that they had a litter due shortly, my wife and in fact I were a little excited so off we went to their home.  We were not prepared for what we saw, the most stunning cats and kittens we had ever seen we were smitten by them all.  Now we had to wait and it seemed like an eternity but we eventually picked up our little kitten Ramses and brought him home where he was spoilt rotten by everyone.

Ramses is now a fine strapping two year old Ragdoll and the boss of our home, when Ramses was around 15 months old we decided or rather my wife did that we just had to have another Ragdoll, but this time a blue and preferably a bi-colour, so we phoned Happiness and were thrilled to discover someone had just decided not to have a little blue bi-colour boy, we arranged to go and see him and were yet again in love with this ball of fluff.  He came home in due course and we thought that was it, little did we know!

A friend of ours mentioned that they thought that we would be ideal as breeders as we had the right mentality for it seeing as we spoilt our cats and were always talking about the breed, we had never given breeding a thought so put our conversation to the back of our minds.  Around June 2006 we were chatting to each other and breeding came up, after lengthy talks we contacted a breeder about the possibility of getting our own breeding queen, they told us to go on the TBRCC teach-in seminar and then get back to them if we felt we could in fact begin a breed program. So we attended the seminar and enjoyed every minute,  on arrival home we phoned Happiness, as we were already owned by two of their cats, and asked if they had a breeding queen potential kitten available.  They did and we arranged to go over and see her, she was just adorable and we reserved her. We then went into a strange few months of research on what to expect from breeding and the emotions that come with it.

Finally the day came to pick up our little girl and she was adorable, Abbi is extremely vocal and very mothering towards the adults and in fact children of our home and she is very inquisitive and to be honest a real cheeky little madam.  We feel she will make an excellent mother and are truly looking forward to making our first steps towards having our first litter.
